Breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day – yet many of us skip it. Why oh why when you can set yourself up for a great day at The May Fair. When we caught up with Jedward recently at the MOBO awards, they had nothing but compliments for our restaurant breakfast – not the traditional English breakfast though but the selection of fresh fruit, cereals and continental offerings on the menu.

London restaurant breakfastThis week we headed down to the kitchens to see what all the fuss is about – Head Chef Bert Muhle was on hand to guide us through the breakfast menu and here are his top tips for a hearty winter breakfast and how to keep your immune system up as it starts getting colder.

– You can still enjoy a cooked breakfast even if you are counting the calories, try having a egg-white omelet with courgettes and tomato. It’s low-fat, low-cholesterol and you even get in one of your 5 a day

– The Omega-3 oils in fish are great for your joints, keeping them supple when the cold starts seeping in. Grilled kippers, smoked salmon, poached haddock

We stayed at the Mayfair in the Fall of 2008 and had a wonderful stay. Since we left London, we have craved the chocolate muffins every day..
We have tasted many muffins since attempting to satisfy our chocolate muffin desire to no satisfaction.
Would you be willing to share the recipe across the pond?:?
Missing London, and especially the May fair.

    Hi Carole,

No problem, I will ask Rana our Pastry Chef for the recipe. In the meantime, you should try making the Raspberry Marshmallows – seriously delicious!

I will write to you once the recipe is on the blog

Come back and see us soon Carole
